Rural Society location is proud to offer rehab therapy to the community

The rehab therapy team at Good Samaritan Society – Bloomfield feels fortunate to be able to offer physical, occupational and speech therapy to their rural Nebraska community.

Amber Jansen says the rehab therapy team works with the nursing team to create the best care plan for patients as they receive rehab therapy.

When they notice a resident’s health declining, they intervene to help them remain as independent and mobile as possible, caring for the whole person – physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Depending on a patient’s needs, there are therapy options to help. For example, NuStep exercise machines are designed with physical therapy in mind and can be adapted to provide additional support for those with limited mobility.

“We use the NuStep to improve range of motion, pain, strength and endurance,” says Amber.

To help support strength training and improve range of motion, Amber and her team use resistance training equipment, such as weight machines.

Additionally, they use biophysical therapies, administering thermal, mechanical, electromagnetic or light energy to help with healing.

“Biophysical agents help support pain management and muscle strengthening,” Amber says.

These include ultrasound, electrical stimulation and dry needling and are used in conjunction with traditional therapy to help patients be successful.

Whatever rehab therapy services a patient needs, the Society’s rehab therapy teams are there to support them while helping them meet their goals.
