My wife entered memory care on July 1, 2019. Because of her condition, it was suggested I enroll her in hospice, and Heritage Hospice was recommended. I was unfamiliar with hospice and the mere mention of it frightened me. In my mind, it highlighted her time was limited, and I had not faced that yet.
Soon, I met Aimee Lowe. She was friendly, knowledgeable and consoling. Throughout the more than five months my wife was in her care, Aimee treated her gently and with great care. Regardless of whether my wife understood what was happening, Aimee explained every step to her in a kind and gentle voice.
Perhaps her competence in caring for my wife could be expected. What I didn’t expect was how she understood and took care of me as the grieving spouse. She calmly and competently answered my questions and explained how my wife’s Alzheimer’s was progressing. She kept me on an even keel as my wife’s condition changed. Aimee helped me more than anyone during this time.
Because of Aimee, I will enthusiastically recommend Heritage Hospice to anyone who needs it.
With great appreciation,
