Adult daycare helps mentally and/or physically impaired adults maintain or improve their level of functioning while remaining a part of the community. Adult daycare helps the functionally impaired adult who may otherwise be unattended during the day to maintain or improve their level of independence. Participants socialize, enjoy peer support, and receive health and social services in a stimulating and supportive environment that promotes better physical and mental health. Adult daycare may provide a needed respite service which enables the primary caregiver to work or pursue other daytime activities.
