Description/Qualifications
The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society (Society) has an employment opportunity available for an Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO). The EVP/COO would oversee operations and related national support systems for 200+ locations in 23 states with 22,000 employees serving 27,000+ residents. A successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience of organization-wide support systems of the continuum of the long-term care environment including skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, and home and community based services.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to and in partnership with the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO) is responsible for strategic leadership, implementation and management of Society-wide operations consistent with the Society’s Mission and Values. Optimizing systems, process and resources for effective quality outcomes, the EVP/COO provides leadership and management of National Campus operations; Regional Operations; Human Resources; Learning; Resident, Community and Quality Services; Information Services and Technology; New Development and Property Management, Marketing and Communications. The EVP/COO works collaboratively with Executive Leadership for desired organizational outcomes and mission fulfillment. In addition, the position provides collaborative leadership and oversight for Society Strategic Alliances and related Society Corporations as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must be an active member of a recognized Lutheran denomination church, and totally embrace, support and advance the Society’s Christian Mission. Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university, master’s degree preferred; must have extensive strong operational senior health care management experience on a more national basis. Preferred candidate will have at least 10 years operations experience with a minimum of 5 of those years in a corporate or national health care focus. Working knowledge and experience in full senior health care continuum is necessary for this position.
