(Canton, S.D.) – Over Memorial Day weekend, the sidewalks along Good Samaritan Society – Canton will be lined with small American flags. Each flag will represent a person being honored as a hero through a gift to Good Samaritan Society – Canton.
Each flag is $25. A gift of $50 or more will be designated with a silver star on the flag’s name tag, and a gift of $100 or more will be designated with a gold star.
Flags can be designated to recognize a friend, loved one or other special person in your life. All proceeds from the Walk of Flags will benefit the center’s Arne Severson Nursing Scholarship Endowment.

One tool that could significantly help our residents is the Vectra Genisys Therapy System. Administrator Sara Rupkalvis and our therapy team researched the system and liked what they saw. The ultrasound features of the Vectra Genisys can provide many benefits, including relief from pain caused by joint contractures, wound management and healing, muscle stimulation and strengthening, increased circulation, and neuromuscular re-education. Its interchangeable laser applicators come in a wide range of strengths and sizes to meet any treatment need.
At $4,000, the price of the Vectra Genisys Therapy System is reasonable, but it is beyond our available financial resources. Income from our residents and tenants help meet our basic expenses. For the extra things we want to do for our residents, we rely on the generosity of our donors. Will you help us?
Your gift will help our seniors experience life as it should be: loving, compassionate and full of peace.
For more information, please contact Sara Rupkalvis or Bob Barnhart at (507) 437-4525.
