Letter from the Foundation

The mission of The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Foundation is to support the Society’s mission of “sharing God’s love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need” well into the future.

The Foundation gathers, grows and provides the channels through which gifts and grants flow to support and improve the quality of life of those in our care.

The vision of the Good Samaritan Foundation is to uphold the Society’s commitment to be Christ-centered, Resident-centered, Staff-centered and Community-centered by:

Building and reinvesting in Christian communities of care through investment in facilities, programs and Society-served communities;
Providing for life-long learning and the continuing development of staff;
Making remarkable improvement in the quality of long-term care and services; and
Demonstrating and disseminating to others innovation in long-term care.

Upon your direction, gifts to the Foundation can be targeted to specific locations or areas of interest, or can be directed to general Society needs.

The Foundation offers many channels for gifts of cash, appreciated assets, insurance policies, remembrance gifts, charitable trusts, and gift annuities. The Foundation also provides the expertise to assist you so that your gift planning is efficient and trouble-free.
