HASTINGS, N.E. - Hundreds of people took to the streets in Hastings to celebrate over six decades of service. Samfest 2022 honored not only Good Samaritan Village’s 65th anniversary but also celebrated Good Samaritan Society as a whole for 100 years of service to the nation.
Executive Director Good Samaritan Village of Kerry Davidson said more than the history, they also celebrated the camaraderie between neighbors.
“They celebrate together, they have improvised their own golf cart parade for birthdays and anniversaries, and they get together and do all this stuff on their own,” Davidson said. “So it’s really a town, it’s a town. So you can live in your own apartment for a long time just because you have neighbors that watch out for you.”
